Nation Group (Thailand) and the Big Data Institute (BDI) signed a memorandum of understanding on 21 January 2026 at the Nation building to support ThaiLLM, a national AI language model that understands Thai language, society and culture.
Nation will contribute Thai-language news, analysis and content on society, the economy and public policy that has been checked and edited by professional newsrooms, while BDI coordinates standards and national AI infrastructure. The partnership aims to reduce reliance on foreign technology and support Thailand's digital sovereignty. Chai Bunnag said Nation develops AI within the ethics of the media profession.
